Donatas Tretjakovas (he/him)(1999) thrives between cathartic extremes and gastronomic boredom. His anthropomorphic practice, which includes performance, misbehavior, sculpture, and writing, is inspired by the overlap of animalistic primitivity and the absurdity of societal vices. He often uses raw materials such as animal flesh, bodily fluids, radical promises, and food in his works. This choice is driven by his attraction to the polarity between the dirty and sterile, thriving and decomposing, transgressive and mundane. His obsession with the grotesque compels the artist to create ironic, dark, and enigmatic work that push the spectator/participant toward the ambiguous unknown.
Donatas lives and works in Rotterdam (NL).
